"Weight Gain after Stopping Smokin" (kaya siguro ako tumaba?)

Do you ever wonder why people who quit smoking turn to eating and gain weight? There are a
few reasons why this occurs. When people smoke, nicotine speeds up their metabolism. It is also
said that smokers have an oral fixation, which means they need to have something in their mouth.
This is why people who quit smoking often turn to eating to replace the cigarette not being in their
mouth. Nicotine is an appetite suppressant. Additionally, smokers often avoid between-meal
snacks by smoking a cigarette.
Here are a few tips to stay at the same weight after quitting smoking. Smoking two packs a day
burns 200 calories a day. That means all you have to do is drink one less bottle of soda a day
and do at least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise daily. Take the time to watch what you are
putting into your body. Check the fat and calorie content of your food. Snack on vegetables and
fruits. Chew sugarless gum to calm cravings. Be sure to get at least 8 hours of sleep. Drink more
water because it will help to get rid of toxins in your body.
Quitting smoking and gaining a little weight is better than continuing to smoke. Just twelve hours
after your last cigarette your body begins to heal from the damage done by the nicotine. You
also lower your risk for illness and death from heart disease, stroke, chronic bronchitis,
emphysema, lung cancer, and other types of cancer. In addition, you make the air cleaner for
your family and friends, especially your children
